The 1863

WHY WE EXIST

Because Freedom Was Paperwork. Liberation Is Daily Work.

On January 1st, 1863, emancipation freed our bodies.
Fifty-four days later, the National Banking Act locked our communities out of the financial system entirely.
That wasn’t coincidence — it was calculation.

From the collapse of the Freedmen’s Bank to the extraction of wealth across generations, families have been handed responsibility without support, expectation without infrastructure, and faith without a financial path forward.

The 1863 Collective exists to finish the work emancipation began —
not symbolically, but structurally.

We are restoring access, rebuilding trust, and reclaiming wealth that was intentionally withheld for 161 years.

An Economic Liberation Ministry Powered by Faith, Psychology & Financial Science

We are not a financial firm.
We are not a nonprofit.
We are not a consultancy.

We are a ministry of economic healing and generational restoration, grounded in:

  • Financial Psychology — healing money trauma and reshaping self-worth
  • Cognitive Economics — understanding how 161 years of exclusion shapes financial behavior
  • Liberation Theology — treating money as a spiritual tool, not a measure of value
  • Wealth Strategy — applying the same systems used by family offices and Fortune 500s
  • Historical Truth — not studying this story, but standing inside it
  • Community Infrastructure — building tools that let families and institutions thrive

This is where spiritual clarity meets economic power.
